Proposal for Scientific-Technological-Industrial Park to be presented in Villa Clara

The proposal for the creation of a Scientific-Technological-Industrial Park is among the actions planned for the celebration in Villa Clara of the Day of the Cuban Science next January 15th, as part of a program of activities that began last December.

With an establishment of this type in the province, provided with a high potential in the manufacturing area, the circulation of knowledge and the relationship between the local companies, and the local research centers and universities, will be facilitated.

The program, organized by the delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) in Villa Clara, also includes the inclusion of the industrial group at the Provincial Scientific Pole.

Given the importance of the role of science in both the economic and the social life of the country, this plan proposes to hold a workshop under the slogan “Innovation to Win”, to debate on the development strategy for Villa Clara, the food sovereignty, and a proposed structure to give a boost to the plant biotechnology.

The meeting will also serve to present the progress of the Interface Company of the UCLV, with 28 contracts signed in several strategic sectors and 160 local development projects approved by the municipal governments.

In addition, outstanding innovators and researchers will be recognized during the day while the government of the Province will also award the Distinguished Personality distinction to the most outstanding researchers during this stage.

A workshop will be held on the contribution of science to coping with the COVID-19 pandemic, with presentations that will cover its mathematical modeling, imaging, medical protocols and social sciences.
