Cuba reports 316 new positive cases to the COVID-19

A total of 10,024 samples were tested for the COVID-19, resulting in 316 positive samples. Thus, the country currently accumulates one million 523 thousand 288 samples tested to date, with 12 thousand 740 positive samples (the 0.84%).

At the close of yesterday, January 3rd, 3,433 patients were admitted for their clinical-epidemiological surveillance, among them: 659 patients were suspect of having the disease, while 1,036 patients were under medical surveillance, and 1,738 patients were confirmed with the disease.

A total of 10,024 samples were tested for the COVID-19, resulting in 316 positive samples. Thus, the country currently accumulates one million 523 thousand 288 samples tested to date, with 12 thousand 740 positive samples (the 0.84%).

Of the total number of new positive cases (316): 172 patients were contacts of previously confirmed cases, while 127 patients reported their source of infection abroad, and 17 patients did not have a specified source of infection. Of them, 148 patients were female and 168 patients were male. The 66.4% of them (210 patients) was asymptomatic, thus accumulating a total of 8,441 asymptomatic patients, which represents the 66.2% of those cases confirmed to date.

Of the 12,740 patients diagnosed with the disease to date, 1,738 patients remain hospitalized (representing the 13.6%); of them: 1,718 patients (the 98.8%) demonstrate a stable clinical evolution. Sadly, 147 deaths have been reported (however none in the day), two patients were evacuated, 16 patients returned to their countries, there were 161 discharges of the day, while 10 thousand 837 patients have recovered to date (the 85.1%).

Currently, 20 confirmed patients are admitted at the Intensive Care Units, 6 of them are critical and 14 are severely ill.
